A NOTE FROM MAYOR BLOOMBERG - Parents Can Sign up for School Alerts
Message from the Department of Education: Parents Can Sign up for
School Alerts
It's easier than ever to stay updated about events affecting your
child's school. If school opens late or dismisses early, or if it
relocates or closes temporarily because of bad weather or other
unexpected events, you can now receive an update in real-time via
phone, text message, or e-mail. Families can sign up to receive
school updates for up to five specific zip codes through Notify NYC,
the City's public notification system.
Watch the mayor make the announcement at J.H.S. 217 in Queens this
week.
To sign up for the free service please call 311.
