Welcome to Spanish class!

We will be learning how to communicate in new ways through speaking, listening to, reading, and writing Spanish. We will also be exploring Spanish-speaking cultures abroad, and right here in the United States. Come prepared to investigate and try new things!

Project: Travel Agency Dialogue

Draft of dialogue is due on Tuesday, June 1.


Students will improve and rehearse drafts in class. Students may use notes or a script when presenting. Extra credit will be given to those groups who can successfully present without notes. Presentations will begin Wednesday, June 2.


Students may work as a pair (preferred) or in a group of 3, or alone. No groups larger than 3 will be allowed.


Late presentations will lose 10% of the total possible score, per day late.

  • The family tree is mandatory. You must label all people in the tree with their name and relationship (ie. madre, primo, hermana, etc.) to you. Describe 8 people according to the directions in the handout. The people described must include at least 1 from each generation (ie. abuelo, tío, hermano).

  • The photo assignment is an extra credit oral presentation. The presentation is to be prepared ahead of time, as you will not be allowed a script in front of you. You will be graded on your speaking performance. You must describe at exactly 4 people.
